Our Mission
The Love Like Jaxson Foundation was created to honor the memory of Jaxson Grubbs #34, who passed away in 2024. Jaxson had a huge heart for not only baseball, but for his community. Our mission is to carry on Jaxson's legacy by supporting families in need and providing opportunities for young athletes in our New Castle community.

Jaxson's Story
Jaxson Grubbs was more than just a beloved member of our New Castle, Indiana community—he was a beacon of hope, a source of unconditional love, and a reminder that the smallest acts of kindness can create the biggest impact. His life, though far too brief, was filled with moments that continue to inspire us every day.
A Heart Full of Love
From an early age, Jaxson had an extraordinary ability to see the good in everyone and everything. Whether he was helping a neighbor carry groceries, volunteering at community events, or simply offering a warm smile to a stranger, Jaxson understood that love was an action word. His friends and family often marveled at his natural inclination to put others first, never seeking recognition for his kindness.
Community Champion
Throughout his life, Jaxson was deeply involved in making New Castle a better place for everyone. He participated in local charity drives, organized neighborhood clean-up days, and was always the first to volunteer when someone needed help. His approach was simple: if someone needed assistance, Jaxson was there, no questions asked.
A Lasting Legacy
While we deeply miss Jaxson's physical presence, his spirit continues to guide everything we do through the Love Like Jaxson Foundation. Every donation received, every family helped through Jaxson's Locker, and every community event we organize is a living testament to the love he shared so freely with all of us.

Annual "Love Like Jaxson" Memorial Walk
📍 Location: Baker Park, New Castle

👥 Expected Attendance: 300+ community members
Join hundreds of community members for our signature memorial walk celebrating Jaxson's life. The morning includes a 5K walk/run, remembrance ceremony, community breakfast, and activities for children. All proceeds directly support local families through our foundation.
Harvest of Hope Community Festival
📍 Location: New Castle High School Gymnasium
🕐 Time: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM
🎪 Features: Live music, local vendors, food trucks, kids zone
Our annual harvest celebration brings together local businesses, families, and volunteers for an afternoon of fun and community connection. This event helps us stock Jaxson's Locker with winter essentials and raises funds for our holiday assistance programs.
Thanksgiving Community Dinner
📍 Location: New Castle Community Center
🕔 Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
🦃 Capacity: 200 guests
No one should spend Thanksgiving alone. Join us for a free community dinner where everyone is welcome at our table. This event embodies Jaxson's spirit of inclusion and ensures every community member feels the warmth of belonging during the holidays.
Holiday Miracle Drive
📍 Location: Multiple collection sites across New Castle
🕘 Time: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
🎁 Goal: Support 150 families this holiday season
Our largest annual giving event ensures that every child in our community experiences the joy of the holidays. From toy collection to gift wrapping to delivery, this community-wide effort requires all hands on deck to spread Christmas magic.

It's a place where people can donate gently used items and families in need can find essentials—all with dignity, respect, and no questions asked. This embodies Jaxson's belief that everyone deserves to be treated with love and kindness.

How Jaxson's Locker Works
💝 For Donors
Simply bring your clean, gently used items during our operating hours. Our volunteers will:
- Accept your donation with gratitude
- Sort and organize items properly
- Ensure items reach families who need them most
- Provide a donation receipt for tax purposes
🏠 For Families in Need
Visit during our hours and take what you need. We believe in:
- No paperwork or proof of need required
- Dignified, respectful service
- Privacy and confidentiality
- Treating everyone like family
Volunteer Opportunities
Jaxson's Locker runs entirely on the love and dedication of our volunteers. Whether you have 2 hours or 20 hours to give each month, there's a way for you to help continue Jaxson's mission.
Sorting & Organization
Help sort incoming donations and keep the locker organized and accessible
Customer Service
Welcome visitors and help families find what they need with warmth and respect
Pickup & Delivery
Help collect large donations and deliver items to families who can't visit in person
Maintenance
Keep our space clean, welcoming, and well-maintained for all who enter
Special Donation Requests
Large Items: For furniture, appliances, or bulk donations, please call ahead to schedule.
Seasonal Needs: We especially need winter coats (October-March) and school supplies (July-September).
