    Recreation & amenities

94 acres of courts, trails, ponds, and open fields β€” most amenities are free and open dawn to dusk; a few require a reservation.

    Trails & grounds

Stone-lined walking paths wind past Depression-era bridges, a natural amphitheater, and stocked fishing ponds. Two softball diamonds and multiple soccer fields host league play throughout the season.

    Playgrounds & picnicking

Picnic tables are scattered throughout the grounds in addition to the 18 reservable shelters. Playground equipment is located near the main shelter areas β€” see the park map on the Monuments tab.

A memorial first, a park second

    Monuments & the park map

Dedicated in 1920 to Henry County's World War I dead and rededicated in 1923 to honor veterans of every war, the park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

Before publishing, replace these with names, photos, and stories verified against county veteran records, obituaries, or family-submitted forms.
